22RTE Cylinder Head Gasket Set 1985-1988

We have designed a 22RTE Cylinder Head Gasket Set 1985-1988 and they are ALL OEM.  We have seen every “complete” engine gasket and head gasket set on the market, most appear to be made from a “recycled toilet paper” looking substance, and even the quality sets are very incomplete. Here at Yota1 we ACTUALLY work on these trucks AND install these engines EVERYDAY so we know exactly what you need and what works.  I’m sure you’ve been elbows deep in an auto repair job when you realize your “complete gasket set” is not so complete.  I still can’t find the 12mm wrench I threw the last time this happened to me. So……. unless you have plenty of extra wrenches and enjoy “do it yourself” gasket adventures at midnight, you’ll need the Yota1 head gasket set. Don’t forget the head bolts!

SURFACE PREP:                                                                                                                                     

A head gasket is by far the most important seal in an engine, which is why we only use OEM gaskets.  Surface prep is the key to a successful head gasket replacement.  Remember that one drop of oil in the wrong spot can cause a head gasket to fail immediately.  Even a quality gasket doesn’t stand a chance if not properly installed.  Both mating surfaces need be as close to perfect as possible. This means clean & dry bare metal with no traces of the old gasket, oil, coolant or debris.  We recommend using a clean, dry & lint free cloth to wipe both surfaces with acetone or thinner just before the gasket is installed.  Be sure to let both surfaces dry completely before installing the gasket.  Avoid touching the gasket or mating surfaces with your fingers, oil from your fingers can contaminate a well prepped surface.
